Obituary of James W. Linsted
Mr. James W. Linsted, 81, of 11536 Hydetown Rd., Titusville died at 7:50 PM on Wednesday, October, 27, 2010 at the Titusville Area Hospital, shortly after his arrival.
Mr. Linsted was born on April 14, 1929 in Youngstown, OH to the late James H. and Florence Myers Linsted. He married Mary Lou Wessell on March 19, 1949.
He was a graduate of North Shenango High School, class of 1947.
Mr. Linsted moved to Titusville in 1959 and built Lin-Van Lanes. He retired in 1991 and enjoyed the many people who passed through the doors at Lin-Van Lanes over the years and made many long lasting friendships. His keen wit and great sense of humor made life more enjoyable for everyone around him.
He was a life long member of the Titusville Bowling Assoc. and Titusville B.P.O. Elks #264. He also enjoyed wintering in Florida for 17 years.
Mr. Linsted is survived by his wife Mary Lou Linsted of Titusville; three sons, James M. Linsted and wife Cindy of Livonia, MI, Terry Linsted and wife Chris of Fairview, Russell Linsted and wife Penny of Titusville; one brother, Gary Linsted and wife Genny of Andover, OH; one sister, Joanne Toy and husband Francis of Sarver; seven grandchildren, Kelli Linsted and her companion Michael of Phoenix, AZ, Jason Linsted and his companion Erin of Erie, Melissa Polteraitis and husband Rimas of Livonia, MI, Brianna Kulacki and husband Konrad of Santa Barbara, CA, Ashlee Linsted and her companion Matt of Girard, Heather Schmader and husband Bradley of Titusville, Meghan Linsted and her companion Austin of Erie; and three great grandchildren, Madison, Korryn and Gabe Polteraitis.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Saturday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM with a memorial service to follow conducted by Pastor Gary Kinnear of the Breedtown Baptist Church officiating.
