Obituary of Bonnie Gifford
Bonnie Gifford formerly of Grand Valley currently residing in Greensburg passed away at her mother’s home in Titusville on Sunday, June 7, 2015, following a courageous 2nd battle with Breast Cancer.
Bonnie was born on December 18, 1975, in Oil City to Margaret (Robishaw) Johnson of Titusville and the late Bruce Bedow. She was adopted by Daniel Shetler upon her parent’s marriage.
She met her husband James W. “Bill” Gifford III in Titusville. He was her high school sweetheart and was married on February 13, 1993, in Enterprise.
Bonnie attended Titusville Area Schools. She graduated from Venango Technology Center as an LPN. Bonnie loved being a nurse and worked in a few area facilities. She was most recently employed at Mountain View Specialty Care Center in Greensburg.
Bonnie enjoyed reading, gardening, her bowling leagues, spending time with her family, floating down the Allegheny River with her friends, and her little family wine parties!
She is survived by her husband James “Bill” Gifford III of Greensburg; 3 sons, Derek Alan Gifford, Dalton James Gifford, Damon Riley Gifford all of Greensburg; her mother, Margaret and step-father Curtis Johnson Sr. of Titusville; a sister, Anna Herrick and husband Dale of Union City; brother-in-law, Thomas Stroup of Titusville; step-brothers, Curtis Johnson and wife Kelly of Enterprise, Frank Johnson and fiancé Laurie Brazil of Lake Havasu, AZ; half-sister, Lori Bogart and wife Stacey of Erie; and several nieces, nephews and one great nephew.
Bonnie was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Penny Stroup and Amanda Shetler; her fathers, Daniel Shetler and Bruce Bedow; and both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call at the Hennes-Garrett Funeral Home 203 E. Main St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will take place from the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Benjamin McCauley pastor of the Full Gospel Church in Pleasantville, officiating.
Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Bonnie’s memory.
