Obituary of Doris G. Goodwill

Mrs. Doris G. Goodwill, 78, of 13753 S. Goodwill Rd., Titusville died at 3:06 AM on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Golden LivingCenter. She had been a resident there for the past few years. Mrs. Goodwill was born on October 18, 1931 in Lowell, Mass. to the late Philip L. and Julienne M. Cornellier Gauthier. She married Delbert F. Goodwill on May 1, 1955 at St. Michael’s Church in Lowell, Mass. Prior to her marriage to Delbert, she had completed two of her three vows to become a nun in the Catholic Church, but decided instead to raise a family. She attended schools in New England and in 1975 graduated from night school at Titusville High School. Mrs. Goodwill was a member of the Hydetown Baptist Church. She also sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and participated in the Women’s Fellowship and church sewing club. She enjoyed singing classical music, crocheting, traveling with her husband and was a former 4 H leader of the Pet and Sod Pickers Mrs. Goodwill is survived by her husband Delbert of Titusville; five children, David L. Goodwill and wife Brenda of Lima, OH, Donald W. Goodwill and wife Julie of Mountain Home, ID, Marcie R. Seymour of Mountain Home, ID, Lois A. Hensler of New York, and Patricia M. Stack and husband Mark of Titusville; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Gauthier and wife Joan, Philip Gauthier and wife Helen both of Maine; three sisters, Claire Tallard of Mass, Gertrude Gauthier and Beatrice Gauthier both of Cal.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roland and Henry Gauthier. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Vincent Seen and Gordon Turk of the Hydetown Baptist Church, officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
