Obituary of Elaine B. Ongley
Elaine B. Ongley, 85, of 16319 Springcreek Rd. Titusville, passed away Friday morning June 19, 2015 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Mrs. Ongley was born on January 12, 1930 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Vance and Helen Alcorn Southwick. She was married to Kenneth R. Ongley on Nov. 5, 1947 at Gilson Ridge. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2001.
Mrs. Ongley was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1947. She was a dealer and district manager for Stanley Home Products for over 40 years. She had also been employed at the former Coburn’s Bakery, Warner’s Bakery, and Monograms and More.
She had attended the Gilson Ridge Free Methodist Church where she had served as Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Ongley is survived by three sons, Glenn R. Ongley and wife Marilyn, Lynn J. Ongley and wife Leah, and Bradley V. Ongley and companion Pauline Falco, all of Titusville; 8 grandchildren, Michelle Whitman and husband Ryan of Titusville, Shawn Ongley of China, Renee Ongley of Titusville, Patrick Ongley and wife Jennifer of Pleasantville, Joseph Ongley and wife Patricia of Pleasantville, Lisa Stedfast and husband Jeff of Fisher, Brandon Ongley and companion Susie Kinch of Uniontown, and Ashley Malave and husband George of Titusville; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Snyder and husband Rulin “Jeff” of Titusville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Walter E. Ongley; a grandson, Michael Scott Ongley; and a brother, Charles Southwick.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with her sons Lynn and Glenn officiating.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
