Obituary of Richard C. Burrows
Mr. Richard C. “Rick” Burrows, 67, of W. Central Ave., Titusville passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening in New York while operating his tractor trailer near Corning.
Richard was born on March 17, 1948, in Titusville to the late Clarence and Josephine Sutton Burrows. He married Ann Thompson on May 10, 1980.
He was a graduate of Titusville High School class of 1966.
Rick has been an independent owner and operator truck driver for the last 40 years. He contracted primarily with Landstar out of Rockford, IL.
He enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR and even did some quarter mile racing in his day. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Rick is survived by his wife Ann Burrows of Titusville; two children, Tanya Vandervort and husband Joe, Joe Elan and wife Nicole both of Titusville; four grandchildren, McKenna Vandervort, Katherine Elan, Jack Elan, Maggie Elan; and two brothers, Ronnie Burrows and wife Meredith of Union City, Jeff Burrows and wife Robin of Pleasantville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Burrows.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Friday from 12:00 to 3:00 PM with the service to follow conducted by Rev. Lee Baker and Mr. Michael Strawbridge.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
