Obituary of Shirley Ann Sterling

Shirley Ann Sterling, 84, of Titusville passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Canonsburg Hospital. Shirley was born in Warren on February 23, 1931 to the late George and Marian Holmberg Springer, Sr. She attended Titusville Schools. Shirley married Mr. Willis Sterling on March 26, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2004. She attended the Hydetown Baptist Church. Shirley was a wonderful mother and grandmother, being the glue of the family, family always came first. She was an amazing cook and an immaculate housekeeper. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and donating to various charities. Shirley is survived by a daughter, Debra Proper of Titusville; three sons, Rev. Jeff G. Sterling and wife Robyn of Titusville, Chris Sterling and wife Debbie of Hydetown, and Michael Sterling and wife Linda of Titusville; seven grandchildren, Josh and Justin Sterling, Ashley Divido and husband Matthew, Amanda Sterling, Jaime and Joel Proper, and Kimberly Sterling; five great grandchildren, Luka and Marko Bucar, Julieann Divido, and Hunter and Alyssa Vroman; three sisters, Susan Kittleson and husband Jim of Chaffee, NY, Sunnie Sugg and husband Jerry of Arcade, NY, and Synthia Springer of Chaffee, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, George Springer, Jr. and Ronald Springer; a sister, Sally Springer; and a grandson, Andrew Sterling. No public calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington Street, Titusville, PA 16354. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Department, 12666 Main St #14, Titusville, PA 16354 or to the Hydetown Baptist Church, 12749 Main St, Hydetown, PA 16328.
