Obituary of Sharon Jane Kinney
Mrs. Sharon Jane Kinney, 73, of 117 N. Washington St., Titusville passed away peacefully in her home at 6:35 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2009.
Mrs. Kinney was born on January 7, 1936 at Titusville to the late Claude and Laura Smith Weatherby. She married Richard M. Kinney on April 11, 1953 in Titusville. Mr. Kinney died on April 21, 2002.
Sharon was the type of person that once you met her you would never forget her! She was a very loving and caring woman. She enjoyed going to bingo, taking care of her home, relaxing and watching her shows, shopping, but most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kinney is survived by five sons, Richard Kinney and wife Peggy of Titusville, Larry Kinney and wife Diane of Titusville, John Kinney and wife Teresa of Cherrytree, Danny Kinney and wife Julie of Titusville and Maysvile, NC, Jeff Kinney and wife Sharon of Oil City; four daughters, Laura Jenkins and husband Brad of Grove City, Sherry Seeley of Titusville, Carla Chase and companion Joe Knapp of Meadville, Vicki Snyder and husband Quentin of Titusville; a granddaughter who she raised like a daughter, Autumn Kinney of Titusville; three brothers, Wallace Weatherby of Titusville, Daniel “Butch” Weatherby and wife Barb of Meadville, Richard Weatherby and wife Aggie of Union City; two sisters, Joan Horne and husband Jako of Meadville, Claudia Giewont and husband Vince of Orlando, FL; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three children, Crystal Kinney, Kimberly Kinney and Christopher Kinney; three grandsons, Shane Hunt, Cole Kinney and Danny Allen Kinney II; one brother, David Weatherby who died in infancy; and two sisters, Karen Norr and Stella Comstock.
The family will be holding a wake service at the American Legion on Friday from 1 to 3 PM.
Interment of ashes will be in Union Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home.
