Obituary of Samuel J. Cosper
Samuel J. “Butch” Cosper, 67, of Titusville passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Butch was born in Titusville on October 4, 1947, to the late Samuel G. and Beatrice A. McClellan Cosper.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served in the US Army. He entered the service on January 25, 1967 at Pittsburgh, PA and was honorably discharged on January 17, 1969 at Ft. Lewis, WA with the rank of sergeant.
Butch married Patricia Peoples on September 4, 1971 in Titusville.
He was a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW and of the Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion.
Butch was a race car enthusiast, enjoying dirt track and NASCAR; he loved his dogs and enjoyed traveling to Tennessee to visit family.
Butch is survived by his loving wife, Pat; two sons, Samuel J. Cosper, II of Statesville, NC, and Brian Cosper and wife Cody of Duff, TN; a sister, Virginia “Ginger” Cosper of Piqua, OH; a brother, Daniel Cosper and wife Pat of Pleasantville; nine grandchildren, Brittney, Jacob, Brian Jr., JoLee, Max, Chloe, Bryson, Freddy, and Jack Cosper; and several nieces and nephews.
No public services will be observed. Private services will be conducted for the family.
