Obituary of Bonnie L. Brickner
Mrs. Bonnie L. Brickner, 77, formerly of Titusville passed away at 8:15 AM on Tuesday, August 04, 2015, at her home in Meadville. She had been living there for the past year.
Mrs. Brickner was born on January 5, 1938, in Pittsburgh to the late W. Bruce and Olive D. Booher Leithead.
Bonnie was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1956.
She was previously employed by Whitey Dydee Diaper Service of Meadville, served as a day waitress and bartender at Cross Creek Resort, Col. Drake Hotel, and Titusville Country Club. She spent the last nine years of her employment working for Head Start as a driver.
Bonnie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, worked on the funeral dinner committee, attended the Tuesday afternoon Bible Study and was on the board for the Presbyterian Women. She was also a former board member of the Titusville Women’s Club and Crawford County Drug and Alcohol, a member of the Red Hat Society, and an active participant in Relay for Life.
Bonnie enjoyed sending cards to family and friends, walking around Titusville, shopping and spending time with family.
She is survived by four children, Stephanie Thompson of Meadville, Lynne Stambaugh of Savannah, GA, G. Douglas Thompson and wife Brenda of Franklin, Julie Patterson and companion Jeffrey Greathouse of Centerville; eight grandchildren, Justin Porter and companion Kristi Bair of Cincinnati, OH, Jessica Stambaugh of Pittsburgh, Hadley Stambaugh of Savannah, GA, Zachary Mattern and wife Aubrey of Meadville, Ashley Thompson and companion Jeremy Correa of Venango, Brandon Thompson and wife Michelle of Townville, Desirae Patterson and companion Darryl Currier of Centerville, Tyler Patterson and wife Christina of Titusville; nine great-grandchildren, Drevin, Izabella, Madison, Karson, Bentley, Quinn, Gabriella, Molly, Dominic; two brothers, W. Bruce “Nick” Leithead, Jr. and wife Pattie of Phoenix, AZ, Joseph Leithead and wife Eva of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Sandra Chandler of Titusville; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Calvin and husband Edward of Hartstown, Patty Tauchen of Wausau, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brickner was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Brickner whom she married on March 1, 1969, and preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1991; a son-in-law, Brian Patterson; and a sister, Jacquelyn Scott.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., on Monday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with the service to follow conducted by Rev. Terry A. Purvis-Smith, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
