Obituary of Charles J. Speer
Charles James “Chuck” Speer, Jr. of Titusville, PA, a Born Again Christian, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born June 13, 1935 in Oil City, PA, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Ida Mae Nelson Speer.
He was married to Connie L. Sharrar on March 17, 1956.
Chuck lived most of his life in the Titusville-Oil City area. He also spent several years in California where he was a licensed real estate agent. He was a businessman, entrepreneur, carpenter, mechanic and truck driver. His passions were driving anything with wheels and a motor, and antique cars. He raced a stock car at Tri City Speedway in the late 1970’s. He taught and passed on his passions to his twin sons. Many people remember him with a Pepsi and cigar.
He was a member of the Resurrection Baptist Church in Titusville.
His survivors include his wife Connie of 55 years; two daughters, Karen S. Speer Clark, Kathy L. Speer Malone and husband Perry; two sons, Daniel J. Speer and fiancée Tammy, and Dean J. Speer, all of Titusville; eight grandchildren, Kevin Cooper and wife Jen, Lauri Baldwin, Matthew Harvey, Courtney Speer, Dillon Speer, Danielle Speer, Dalton Speer, and C.J. Langston.
He is also survived by four great grandchildren, Taylor Speer, Elaena Baldwin, Parker Cooper and Samantha Cooper; a sister, Betty Speer Bennett; a special niece, Marilyn McGinnis of Las Vegas, NV, and many other nieces and nephews. He adored his dog Annie who also survives him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter Speer; six half brothers and a half sister.
Memorial services will be private. Flowers will be omitted. Memorial contributions can be made to the Resurrection Baptist Church 3515 State Route 8 Titusville, PA 16354 or to the Venango County Humane Society Deep Hollow Rd. RD 2 Franklin, PA 16323.
