Obituary of M. Faye Butcher Hoepfl Keyes

Mrs. Marjorie Faye Butcher passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Titusville having been a resident there for the past 2-1/2 years. She was born near Enterprise a daughter of Herbert and Florence Vincent Butcher on May 6, 1926. She married Lewis R. Hoepfl who preceded her in death in 1973. She then married Lyndon Keyes who passed away in October 2014. Most of her adult life she was a waitress and home health care attendant. Her family was her main focus and her happiest times were spent with her family. She was a wonderful cook and baker and her family enjoyed the fruits of her labor very much. She is survived by her three children, Thomas Hoepfl and wife Barbara of Titusville, Susan Wheelock and husband James of Townville and Michael Hoepfl and wife Rose of New Oxford, a stepdaughter, Evelyn, of Erie, sisters Barbara Panas of Titusville, Beverly Anderson of Washington’s Crossing, PA and a brother Gayle Butcher and wife Saundra of Zelienople. She is also survived by grandchildren Kelly Cairns of Titusville, Sherry Speer of Titusville, Scott Wheelock and wife Kathleen of Townville, Stacey Hetrick and husband William of Saegertown, and Christopher Hoepfl and wife Tina of Titusville and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and another expected soon. There are many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren surviving and a special step granddaughter, Michele Knauer of Erie. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, a grandson, Joseph, 2 brothers, Paul and Vincent Butcher and a step-daughter, Virginia Rees. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Golden Living Center and Asera Care Hospice for their great care of Faye. No public calling hours will be observed. A private service will be conducted for the family with Rev. Mark Rusnak, officiating. Interment will be at East Troy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 1128 State St. Erie, PA 16502. The Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
