Obituary of Janie C. Dowling Ewing
Mrs. Janie C. Dowling Ewing, 64, of 129 ½ Third St., Pleasantville passed away at 12:05 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at her home with her daughter by her side following a brief illness.
Janie was born on January 26, 1951, in Titusville to the late Walter J. and Louise Bell Campasino.
She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1969, and earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Clarion University, Venango Campus, on May 10, 1991.
Janie was formerly employed by Fisher’s Big Wheel, Titusville Area Hospital, CVS, and Southwoods Assisted Living.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she also served as a Deacon and volunteered in the church office.
Janie was a kind and compassionate person who enjoyed helping family and friends. You were always greeted by her with a warm hug and smile.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea L. Platt of Pleasantville; a brother, John Campasino and wife Kathy of Centerville; a sister, Judith Campasino of Seattle, WA; a niece, Kristie Henderson and husband Tyler of Titusville; 2 nephews, Joe Campasino and wife Jessica of Titusville, Ben Campasino and wife Tracy of Seattle, WA; 7 great nieces and nephews; her former husband, Michael Platt of Titusville and his extended family; as well as, several step-children, cousins and close friends.
Janie was preceded in death by 2 sons, Andrew R. Platt who died on July 28, 2013, Michael Platt who died in infancy on May 19, 1971; and 2 husbands, James Dowling on Feb. 5, 1999 and H. Richard Ewing on Dec. 9, 2008.
No services are being observed at this time. Private services are being conducted for the family.
