Obituary of Ronald C. McCray
Ronald C. McCray, 58, of Centerville, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning September 13, 2015 of natural causes.
Ron was born on May 16, 1957 at Grove City, a son of Phillip McCray and the late Mary Emick Young. He was married to Tammie Hanley on June 9, 1979 at Centerville.
Ron was a graduate of Maplewood High School, class of 1975. He had also attended heavy construction school at Homestead, FL.
He was currently employed as a quality control inspector at Acutec in Saegertown since 2003. He had previously been employed as an inspector at Corry Manufacturing Company for over 19 years and at Rogers Structural Steel Company in Corry.
Ron was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Titusville where he was a past elder, children’s youth leader, and had served as a wise man in the church nativity. He also pastored prison ministry in the Crawford County jail at Saegertown.
He enjoyed family functions and outings and spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports including the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.
He is survived by his father of Corry; his wife Tammie of Centerville; two daughters, Allison Colflesh and husband Christopher of Fayetteville, NC and Bridget Henry and husband Jeremy of Lillington, NC; a sister, Lucinda McCray of Port Ritchie, FL; a brother, Richard McCray of Corry; a half-brother, William McCray of Spartansburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Janelle Allysa McCray; and a half-brother, Samuel McCray.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service on Thursday at 1:00 PM at Grace Fellowship Church 2 McKinney Rd. Titusville, PA with Pastor Phil Taylor officiating.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville.
