Obituary of Lester Earl Warner
Mr. Lester Earl Warner, 82, of Titusville, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Mr. Warner was born in Titusville on July 24, 1933 to the late Earl V. and Elizabeth Baney Warner.
He was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1952.
Mr. Warner was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He entered the service on May 21, 1953 at Pittsburgh and was honorably discharged on May 20, 1955 at Ft. Hood, TX.
He married Nortia Early on August 6, 1956 in Oil City at the Church of the United Brethren. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2007.
Mr. Warner retired in 1993 from Cytemp Steel Corp., where he worked in many different departments for forty years.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Titusville.
Mr. Warner was a member of the American Legion Post 96 of Townville, Bruce Shorts VFW Post 5958, the Titusville Moose Club, Steel Workers Union, and of the NRA.
He enjoyed going to Sugar Lake Hotel for blue grass music on Tuesdays with his family. He was an avid hunter, even traveling to surrounding states and other countries to hunt. He owned a clock collection of 5,000 key wound clocks. He also collected guns and tractors. He enjoyed gardening and fixing anything he could. He was the caretaker at Breedtown Cemetery for thirty years.
Mr. Warner is survived by his three children, Beth Come and friend Frank Muan of Conneaut Lake, David Warner and wife Lisa of Titusville, and Theresa Hamilton of Hydetown; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Warner of Titusville; a sister, Bernice Wagner and husband Ken of Titusville; three brothers, Edwin Warner and wife Faye, Raymond Warner, and Floyd Warner and wife Janet, all of Titusville; seven grandchildren, Michael Warner and companion Heidi, Jason Shontz, Ryan Shontz and companion Jennika, Bruce Warner, Jr. and wife Dana, Ian Warner and companion Monica, James Fielding, Jr. and fiancée McKay, Deanna Fielding and companion Scott, Ryan Posker, and Heather Posker; numerous additional step grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ed Messina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; two sons, Ronald Warner and Bruce Warner; a son-in-law, Ronald Hamilton, Sr.; and a sister, Shirley Warner.
Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, and attend the funeral on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Church of Christ, 221 W. Main Street, Titusville, PA 16354 with Pastor Jim Moore officiating.
Interment will be in Breedtown Cemetery with full military rites.
