Obituary of Gary D. Wood

Mr. Gary D. “Woody” Wood, 66, of Barber St., Titusville passed away at 4:45 AM on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at the Marquette Hospice House near Meadville. Mr. Wood was born on September 16, 1949, in Titusville to the late Charles and June Faunce Wood. He married Sheila Antill on August 21, 2004 in Titusville. He was a graduate of Oil City High School. Gary served in the U.S. Army for 22 years. He was formerly employed by Buyer’s Fair of Titusville, Ernst Steel of Titusville and retired from Electralloy of Oil City where he worked in the shipping department. Gary was a member of the Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion, Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, PNA, National Rifle Association and Titusville Sportsman’s Club. He was a former member of the Titusville Moose Club. Woody enjoyed hunting, woodworking and life. He had a great sense of humor, loved to socialize with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Sheila Wood of Titusville; 3 children, Jason Wood and wife Sherri of Munhall, Timothy Wood of Dwight, IL, Amanda Dresbach of Seneca; 2 step-sons, Brian Wygant and wife Karen of Berwick, Keith Wygant of Virginia Beach, VA; 8 grandchildren, Xander Wood of Titusville, Gabe, Jonah, Emelia, and Delila Dresbach all of Seneca, Noah and Sam Wygant of Berwick, Anna Wygant of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Charles Wood and wife Judy of Idaho; a sister, Donna Heffernan of Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Wood; and a sister, Pamela Heffernan. No calling hours will be observed. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Cleo J. Ross Post American Legion in Titusville. Burial of ashes will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery, Pleasantville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County 406 W.
