Obituary of Thomas R. Hunt

Thomas R. Hunt, 60, of Pleasantville, passed into his eternal home Thursday morning October 22, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. Tom was born on January 16, 1955 in Oil City, PA, a son of the late Merle Hunt and Patricia Gold Hunt Potoka. He was married to Nancy L. Carson on Sept. 4, 1999. He was a graduate of Oil City High School, class of 1972. Tom had been employed at National Forge, Dow Well, and Spartywood/Semac Ind. He was retired as a self-employed logger. He was currently owner of Coal Oil Johnny’s Restaurant in Pleasantville with his wife. Tom loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was always more than happy to wrestle with the boys and give Kendall her “severe smooches”. Tom is survived by his wife Nancy of Pleasantville; four daughters, Christina Blauser and husband Greg of Fertigs, Rebecca Wilson and husband Barry of Titusville, Amanda Allshouse and husband T.J. of Grand Valley, and Eliza Smith and companion Andy Luke of Grand Valley; four grandchildren, Nikolas Blauser, Zachary Wilson, Adrian Gesin and Kendall Moore; two brothers, William Hunt and wife Patricia of Dempseytown, and Ken Hunt and wife Sheri of Titusville; a sister, Deborah Duffy and husband Gene of Conneaut Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and attend the funeral service there on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Shawn Jacobson of the Pleasantville Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Dept.
