Obituary of Richard E. Motter
Mr. Richard E. “Dick” Motter, 80, of Titusville, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Titusville Golden Living Center.
Mr. Motter was born in Titusville on May 7, 1935 to the late Fred and Evelyn Hollenbeck Motter.
He graduated from Colestock High School, class of 1953.
Mr. Motter married Cecilia M. Sobrowski on August 21, 1954 in Oil City.
He was employed by the Titusville Dairy and Cytemp Specialty Steel Corp., where he retired from.
Mr. Motter was a member of St. Titus Church.
He was a member of the Titusville Lodge #754 F.&A.M.
Mr. Motter enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who he spent a lot of time with.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Cecilia; two children, Richard A. Motter and Vickie Orr and husband Greg both of Titusville; seven grandchildren, Joab Orr and wife Kristen of Titusville, Ashley Hunt and husband Brandon of Titusville, Scott Motter and wife Danielle of Ashville, NY, Amanda Orr and companion Keith of Bettendorf, IA, Heather Jenckes and husband Charles of Harrisburg, NC, Carrie Mangione and husband Joe of Warren, and Craig Hetrick of Tidioute; three step grandsons, Chris, Phil, and Adam Orr; twelve great grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Brown of Corry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Motter was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Hetrick; a grandson, Matthew Hetrick; and a brother in law, Ted Brown.
No public calling hours will be observed. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Titus Church on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 10 AM with Father Walter E. Packard as celebrant.
Inurnment will be in St. Catherines Cemetery.
