Obituary of Pastor Wanda Malstrom

Pastor Wanda E. Malstrom, 67, of 16727 Station Rd., Centerville died at 11:25 AM on Friday, November 12, 2010 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie. Pastor Malstrom was born on February 24, 1943 in Titusville to the late Pastor Harold Sterner and Elsie O’Neil Sterner. She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1961 and Rhema Bible Institute in Erie. She was ordained by the Faith Christian Fellowship of Tulsa, OK. Pastor Malstrom has been the minister for the Fellowship of Believers in Centerville for the past 13 years. She has been in the ministry for over 40 years. She was also instrumental in opening and running the New Hope New Beginnings Coffee House on Central Ave. in Titusville for nearly five years. She enjoyed reaching out to people through her ministry, and with music by playing the piano, organ or singing. She loved her dog and birds, but most especially her God and family. Pastor Malstrom is survived by three children, Richard L. “Rick” Malstrom and wife Joanne of Pittsburgh, Pastor Cathy Malstrom Mathos and husband Kurt of Portersville, Eric J. Malstrom and wife Marilyn of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Alexa Malstrom and Ricky Malstrom of Pittsburgh, Tanner Mathos and Jenna Mathos of Portersville, Megan Malstrom and Emily Malstrom of Austin, TX; one brother, James Sterner of Myrtle Beach, SC; and one nephew, Jimmy Sterner of Myrtle Beach, SC. She was preceded in death by a brother, Armond Sterner who died in infancy. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation will be at the Fellowship of Believers in Centerville on Tuesday from 1 to 2 PM at which time the service will be conducted by Pastor Brian Borger of the First Baptist Church in Titusville, officiating.
