Obituary of Kathleen M. Love
Mrs. Kathleen “Sue” Love, 87, of Titusville, passed away Tuesday morning November 3, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Titusville.
Sue was born on August 13, 1928 at Columbus, OH, a daughter of the late Robert and Alice Hughes Lang. She was married to James L. Love on June 12, 1948 at St. Clairsville, OH. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2006.
Sue was a graduate of the St. Clairsville High School. She attended Miami University in Ohio. She met her husband and transferred to Ohio State University from where she graduated in 1950.
After their marriage, Jim and Sue moved to Titusville. Sue taught home economics at the Pleasantville High School until they started their family. Together they started Love’s Christmas tree farm as well as a corner grocery store. After the family was grown, she returned to teaching at the Junior and Senior High schools.
Sue was a member of the Titusville First Presbyterian Church where she served as deacon and elder of the church; and a former member of the Titusville Service League and Garden Club.
The most important part of Sue’s life was her family which included caring for Jim and hosting many family gatherings. She was of strong faith and was known for her dry sense of humor.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane Morrison of Titusville; five sons, James L. Love, Jr. and wife Martina of Titusville, William R. Love of Spartansburg, Daniel B. Love and wife Vicki of Waterford, David C. Love and wife Yuko of Newtown, PA, and Donald A. Love and wife Madaline of Hermosa Beach, CA; 11 grandchildren, Jerimiah Morrison and wife Andrea, Jon and Erica Morrison, James Love III and wife Dominique, Brittany Love, William R. Love II, Robert Love, Spencer Love, Nathan Love, Dustin Porta, and Jessie Hoyermyer and husband Ben; 5 great grandchildren, Hadley and Bennett Morrison, Jackson Wayne, Jackie Love and Jillian Love; a sister-in-law, Grace Lang of Delaware, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Love and a brother, Charles Lang.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday from 2 to 4 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner, officiating.
