Obituary of Frank W. Donovan
Mr. Frank W. Donovan, 87, of Cooperstown, formerly of Titusville, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at UPMC Northwest.
Frank was born in Titusville on February 27, 1928 to the late Charles J. and Mary A. Snyder Donovan.
He attended Colestock High School.
Mr. Donovan enlisted in the US Navy in 1945, serving during World War II, being honorably discharged in 1947. He remained active in the Reserves until 1953.
He worked for Consolidated Freight out of Buffalo, NY for fifteen years, retiring in 1977. Afterwards, he started FWD Trucking, hauling milk and freight for fourteen years.
Mr. Donovan married Patti Vergith on May 25, 2012 in Seneca.
He was a life member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958, member of the Cleo J. Ross American Legion Post 368, Ken-Ton Lodge #1186 in Kenmore, NY, and Golden Crown Eastern Star Lodge #44 in Meadville.
Mr. Donovan is survived by his wife Patty; four children, Karla Campbell of Youngsville, Roger Donovan and wife Terri of Titusville, Jay Donovan and wife Paula of Titusville, and Mark Donovan of TX; a sister, Joan McMahon of Titusville; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles J. Donovan, Jr.; a sister, Elaine McDowell; and a nephew, Michael McMahon.
A private service is being conducted for the family.
Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery.
