My deepest sympathy to the entire family.
Joan and I spent a lot of time together growing up. Her mom and my mom (Aunt Rita Boyer) were sisters and especially close. Joan was the country cousin and I was the city cousin. I use to love feeding all the animals.
She took me to my first car races. I took her shopping in Pittsburgh and we had matching Neru jackets. We thought we were so cool.
I have so many wonderful memories of our times together, and her laugh. When we talked on the phone, we always said "Do you remember ......?. A bit of my heart is missing today.
I will be there for the service.
