Obituary of Frank E. Rankin

               Frank Edward Rankin, 88, of 522 Chestnut Street, Titusville, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 after a brief stay at Titusville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

               Frank was born in Tionesta on November 13, 1929 to the late Ralph and Anna Howell Rankin. 

               He married Shirley Mae Martin on September 29, 1945.  She preceded him in death on April 6, 1998.

               Frank attended school in Tionesta.

               He was employed for over twenty years at Queen Cutlery before going to work for PPG in Meadville in 1968.  He retired in 1992.

               Frank was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and target shooting.  He was a member of the Pine Creek Valley Hunting Association and belonged to Colonel Drake Archers.  For many years was very active with youth baseball in Titusville.

               He was a lifelong Pirates and Steelers fan.

               Frank is survived by a daughter, Sue Duncan and her fiancĂ© Jerry Jones of Titusville; six grandchildren, Sonja Thomas of Montgomery, AL, Jason Rankin and wife Sarah of Grand Valley, PA, Charles Duncan and wife Veronica of Brownwood, TX, Joni Wescoat of Neiltown, Cory Rankin of Corry, and Shane Rankin and wife Sara of Thermopolis, WY; seventeen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Juanita Bouch and husband Bud of Kane, Helene Merritt and husband Russell of Clymer, NY, Imogene Savko of Bear Lake, PA, and Gerry Black and husband Jim of Sugar Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.

               He was preceded in death by two sons, Edward and Ronald Rankin; a son-in-law, Charles Duncan, Sr.; two great granddaughters, Kathryn Wescoat and Brenna Rankin; and six brothers, Bruce, Tommy, Junior, Walter, Richard, and Robert Rankin.

               Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington Street, Titusville, PA 16354 on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 11 AM to 1 PM and the funeral service to follow with Rev. Doug Cole of Bible Baptist Church officiating.

               Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
