Obituary of Holly S. Matthews

               Mrs. Holly S. Matthews, 73, formerly of 409 N. Perry St. Titusville, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:45 PM at Titusville Healthcare and Rehab Center.

               Holly was born on December 10, 1944 in Titusville to the late Loyle and Eleanor Nichols Sharp. She was formerly married to Carl E. Matthews.

               She was a graduate of Titusville High School, Oil City Business School, and Cazenovia College where she received a bachelor’s degree in literature. 

               Holly worked for 43 years at the Titusville Herald and retired as the city editor.

               She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

               Holly was a board member for the Titusville Council of the Arts and United Way. She enjoyed reading and traveling, especially to European countries.  She loved being with her daughters and grandchildren. She loved animals, and her faithful dogs Ally and Rose who preceded her in death.

               She is survived by her two daughters, Maria Beck and husband Dion of Titusville, and Kate Welborn and husband Travis of Belleville, IL; seven grandchildren, Wyatt, Daxton, and Vedder Beck of Titusville, and Noa Grace, Ari, Ryder, and Willow Welborn of Belleville, IL.

               No public calling hours will be observed.
